Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

Introduction

Hi! I'm a solo developer who built oki.gg as a collection of fun gaming projects. I'm committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how this site works. This Privacy Policy explains what little data I collect and how I handle it when you visit and use my hobby projects.

Since this is a personal project, I keep things simple and privacy-focused. I don't sell data, run ads, or do anything shady with your information.

Information We Collect

Data I Collect

  • Basic analytics data (page views, browser type, device info) to understand how people use the projects
  • Usage statistics to help me improve and fix things
  • Error logs when something breaks so I can fix it
  • IP addresses for basic security (preventing abuse)

Data I Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone) unless you choose to contact me
  • Financial information (everything is free anyway!)
  • Steam account credentials or personal gaming data
  • Precise location data (maybe general country/region for analytics)
  • What you do on other websites
  • Anything I don't actually need to make the projects work

How I Use Your Information

I use the minimal data I collect to:

  • Keep the projects running and fix things when they break
  • Understand which projects people like so I can focus my time there
  • Spot and fix technical issues
  • Prevent abuse and keep things secure
  • Follow any legal requirements (though there aren't many for hobby projects)

Cookies and Local Storage

My projects use local storage and basic cookies to:

  • Remember your preferences and settings
  • Store your simulation data locally in your browser (like case opening history)
  • Keep things working properly

I don't use tracking cookies or advertising cookies - that stuff is annoying. Most of your data stays on your device and never gets sent to my servers.

Third-Party Analytics

I might use simple analytics (like Google Analytics or similar) to see how people use the projects - which pages are popular, where people get stuck, etc. Any analytics I use are configured to be as privacy-friendly as possible. I don't share personal information with anyone.

Data Security

I do my best to keep your data secure with reasonable protections. However, I'm just one person running hobby projects - I can't guarantee perfect security (no one can, really). The good news is I collect very little data anyway, so there's not much to worry about.

Your Rights

You have the right to know what data I have about you, correct it, or ask me to delete it. Since I collect very little personal data, there's probably not much to see anyway. If you want to know what I have or want me to delete something, just reach out.

Most of your data (like case opening history) is stored locally on your device anyway, so you can clear it yourself through your browser settings.

Kids and Privacy

My projects aren't specifically aimed at kids under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you're a parent and think I have data about your child, let me know and I'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

I might update this privacy policy occasionally. If I do, I'll update the date at the top and post the new version here. Since this is a hobby project, changes will likely be minor and aimed at being more transparent.
